We are looking for a talented student currently pursuing a degree in interaction design, computer science, or related fields. You'll work closely with our UX Designer to further develop our portfolio management and trading system, Polaris.

We believe in real user involvement and sit as a team with the traders and portfolio managers to fully understand their challenges and ways of working. As a UX Design Intern at NBIM, you'll gain unique insight into how Norway's sovereign wealth fund operates while designing complex systems and contributing to meaningful improvements from day one.

The position is part-time (50%), allowing you to balance work with your studies. You'll need to be in our Oslo office around 2 days a week, with flexible scheduling when needed.

Who are you?

You are a curious person who loves to find solutions to complex questions, using user-centered methods and approaches. What your background is in is not super important, but you have a deep interest in making digital systems accessible and intuitive to use. You work well in teams, have strong communication skills, and are not afraid to take initiative and speak with people across different roles.

What you will do

  • Improve and work on our design system
  • Document interaction patterns and information architecture to ensure consistency across the platform
  • Conduct user research within our different investment areas
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to turn insights into solutions
  • Help us continuously improve the user experience of our portfolio management tools

What you need

  • Be familiar with Figma
  • Understand design principles and user-centered design methods
  • Have a true curiosity about complex systems (interest in finance is a bonus!)
  • Be structured and self-driven
  • Not be afraid to ask questions or bring new ideas to the table
  • Be in your 2nd-4th year of studies in interaction design, computer science, or similar

Do you have a portfolio, or a project you've been working on either at school or privately? We would love to see it! It doesn't have to look pretty, but we are interested in getting a peek into how you work and think.
